Straight from Israel to Cooperstown
Shlomo Lipetz from the Israel National Baseball Team initially traveled to Cooperstown to pitch for the Ben’s Dream White Sox and arrived on Sunday. But when the White Sox failed to make the playoffs after a poor run Saturday, Lipetz had not yet appeared on a line-up card or official roster. The Hyde Park Rangers acted quickly and signed him up. Lipetz then pitched a 10-inning gem for the Rangers, but lost versus the Charlotte All-Stars in the playoffs. See How Shlomo Lipetz and Team Israel Brought Baseball Back to the Promised Land.
